Another new comer to join the trendy spot of Canley Heights double strip of restaurants. Viet's Absolute is just opposite Bau Truong. It's current location use to be Khiem Thanh's Supermarket who have now moved right around the corner to Peel St. Its pretty hard to miss considering its new and shiny. Just like Holy Basil, Viet's Absolute has its main restaurants where they serve you entrée and mains and conveniently next door they have a dedicated dessert space so there's definitely no need to wander too far.
Hands down one of the best menu's I've come across. I love the reading book style with the beautiful illustrations of the streets of Vietnam. Everything about the menu was amazing .
coconut pancakes with shrimp (Banh khot) - $7.00
A massive plate of small pancakes and a sky high of greens arrived as our starter. These small delightful savory pancakes were joyful to eat. They had a slight crunchy skin on the outside and a soft center. One of the best thing about these pancakes was wrapping them inside the salad leaves and dipping them in salty and sweet fish sauce.
Pho - $14.00
On a cold day with a cold there's nothing like having a bowl of pho. A bowl of pho with added chili is always enough to have you breaking out in a sweat with a unblocked nose. This Pho is pretty pretty average and sadly the broth doesn't have that intense meaty flavour that most restaurant here deliver. Another thing that was hard to ignore was the extremely soft rice noodles.
