COW & THE MOON

A surprise gem located on Enmore Road. After a quick lunch we came to a full stop at Cow & the Moon to have a little gelato and some more.  The oddity of the new and old furniture collaborated very well with their interior creating a welcoming and homely atmosphere.

Left: Dulce de leche and Coffee - Two scoops: $6.50 each

The Dulce de leche just melted in your mouth. It was rich and creamy with a perfect balance of caramel swirled within the gelato.

Coffee anyone? This was a good selection of two gelato scoops in a tube. The coffee stood its own flavour and was an excellent balance of espresso and cream combined.

Right: Pistachio and Mandorla affogato - Two scoops: $6.50 each

Oh where to start? well there isn't much to be said except for " Oh My God"! The Pistachio gelato was absolutely to divine. The amount of Pistachio flavoring was just right and the small chopped up Pistachio pieces was enough crunch for each scoops. I really enjoyed this flavor considering its my all time favorite so I am always very critical when trying new places with a Pistachio Flavored Gelato.

It was my first time trying the Mandorla Affogato and I'll defiantly be going back for more. It was creamy caramel heaven with a touch of crunchy macadamias. Seriously to die for and would definitely reorder again.

Chili Hot Chocolate - $4.00

A hot chocolate with a twist, I've heard of hot chocolates with a hint of chilli but never ordered one until today and pretty glad I did. Lets just say its an experience because I'm not too sure if I liked the combination or not. Or maybe because I wasn't too hyped about the frothing of the milk, It didnt feel silky, creamy nor was it smooth. It just left me wanting it to end.

Left: Hazelnut  Brownie - $4.50

I'm a bit of a brownie nutter. The Hazelnut Brownie wasn't great because it left this almost bitter taste of the hazelnuts however the brownie mixture was perfect. The batter was heavy and dense and the chocolate flavour carried through the bite.

Center: Sticky date cake - $4.50

The Sticky date cake was a small bundle of sticky joy, the cake was moist, had enough resistance and had a good amount of caramel sauce sitting on top. It was the perfect amount of sweetness.

Right: Pineapple slice with cream cheese, coconut & pistachios - $4.50

The Pineapple slice was my favorite out of the three. The Pineapple flavor was something tangy and refreshing. I loved the texture that the coconut and the pistachio pieces brought to the slice.
