RHAPSODY OF THE SEA DINNER #9

I can tick another box in my bucket list today. We arrived at Vila, Vanuatu which we had an incredibly slow and annoying start to our day but thankfully a family we'd met from our previous tour in Fiji, saved our day. Thankfully their plans for the day were the same as ours which made everything run smoothly and even if the plans were different by this point I couldn't have cared less. We'd planned to abseil down the Cascade waterfalls but that didn't work out. We thought we'd try to buy tickets in the location but sadly we were all unable to so the next stop was the Blue Lagoon which was the place I'd seen so many times on pinterest and it seemed unreal! The waters were this beautiful deep turquoise blue we had ever seen. The water was incredibly salty which keeps you afloat on the surface of the water.

Breaded Prawns
Asian slaw and tangy lime-cilantro aioli
The breaded prawns were coated in bread crumbs and fired and tasted so good. They were crunchy on the outside and tender in the inside, they went prefectly well with the lime-cilantro aioli. Part of the main reasons why I chose this entrĂ©e was for the Asian slaw and unfortunately it was bland and plain.

Chicken Piccata Limone
Chicken breast, lemon and herb veal jus with creamy mash, peas, carrots and cauliflower
Something simple will be more than satisfactory and this definitely did the job. I wasn't too hungry tonight and thankfully when my main arrived it was a good size. The chicken breast were soft and tender, drizzled with lemon and herb veal gravy which partnered excellently with the chicken. The mash was surprisingly cream and buttery unlike previously.

Apple Cobbler
cinnamon, apples, brown sugar crumble with ice cream
It felt like a rather sad ending to a good dinner. Usually dessert is a no fail option and unfortunately tonight it completely missed the target. The Apple cobbler left like it was lacking in many ways. The apples felt undoubtedly undercooked and disgustingly under seasoned. The only food thing was the crumble and ice cream on top but besides that I was extremely disappointed.

For the whole twelve days they were consistent, attentive, polite and always delivered high service throughout the whole time.
